This weekend, I made a promise to myself that I was going to clear the books and take time for myself. It seems we've been going non-stop all summer long. I tend to run errands all day Saturday and spend Sundays at G$'s for family dinner, which of late have turned into all day affairs complete with truck rides and treats courtesy of Spud. My house hasn't felt clean in quite awhile and my laundry has tended to be done piecemeal after we get home late Sunday evenings. Maybe that's why I've been so out of sorts lately. This weekend, though, I have managed to stick to my guns. We ventured out long enough yesterday to order Baby J's senior pictures, have lunch with some dear friends, and pick up the few groceries I'll need for the week (Baby J will be with G$ tomorrow and Tuesday and then in Branson for the rest of the week...anybody want to babysit me??). Then another friend stopped by to pick up some crafting supplies for her children's church and drop off some nearly new jeans that fit like a dream!! I did some cooking, some scrapping, and watched some movies that make me laugh. It's been a much needed break.
One of the pages I've put together this weekend is for Baby J. She turns 18 in a little less than two weeks and even though senior year is still a few days from starting, plans for fall of 2014 and her big move to college are already in motion. It makes me a little sad. She and I have been a duo for so long now that I really don't know how I'll be able to let her leave. She knows me better than anyone, all my quirks and habits. She'll do fine on her own. It's me that I'm worried about. But I'll survive. I think.
The papers are courtesy last month's Studio Calico kit. The stickers and wood veneer cameras I picked up at Archiver's (and the crafting table is too far away from the computer to get up and get the name). The stamp is from PTI and the badges are from Amy Tangerine. Pretty darn happy with the way things turned out...both on the page and off!
